Kakiemon Exhibit “Beauty in Everyday Life”

-Tokyo, Paris & New York Tour-

In the mid-17th century, the first Kakiemon recorded the “Aka-e Hajimari no ‘Oboe‘,” marking the beginning of a unique history of porcelain known as the Kakiemon style. Approximately 400 years have passed since then. As the traditions passed down through generations blend into our contemporary daily lives, what new forms will they take?

This exhibition, in collaboration with the Kakiemon kiln Tokyo store, will showcase the unique charm of Kakiemon in a way that only AREA can offer, across three locations: AREA Tokyo, AREA Paris, and AREA New York. You will find a beautiful intersection of traditional crafts and modern living spaces, featuring dining tables and sideboards alongside luminous milky-white porcelain. Enjoy the fusion of everyday life space and traditional craftsmanship brought to you by AREA.
