When Japanese people consider their sense of belonging, there is a word that resonates deeply as a primal memory: MAHORABA. Written as “真秀等場,” MAHORABA signifies a truly excellent place. The suffix “ra” (等) indicates direction, such as “achira” or “kochira,” serving as a demonstrative pronoun.
At AREA, our endeavors are expanding worldwide. Amidst this, we have chosen to reflect on the essence of MAHORABA, which lies at the heart of Japan, the place of our origins, making it our annual theme.
